Experian allows you (legally) to obtain a complimentary
(free) credit report once a year, one free credit report if you are
turn down for credit by a credit grantor in the last 30 days (be sure
to enclose denial letter with request). There is a cost of $8-10, if
the above does not apply to you. Equifax and Trans union themselves
now offer complimentary reports. And they will give you a free report
if you have been denied credit, insurance, employment or a rental opportunity
in the last 30 days and or if you pay a small fee of $8 (individual)
and $16 for two persons such as husband and wife with a combined report.

When you look at the form you will notice that personal information
is needed in order to receive a report so be sure to write or type neatly
because you want to get your credit file fixed up quickly and efficiently.
It is very irritating when the credit bureaus send you a letter stating
that you have missed spelled something, left out a digit in your social
security number or anything silly. Take your time do it right! When
sending letters or correspondence to a credit bureau always sends it
certified mail with a return receipt. This will insure it got there!
